Multiphase Flow Features of the Flotation Machine

Large inflatable mechanical mix type floatation machine can be roughly divided into four districts, namely the mixed zone, transport zone, separation zone and the foam area. This kind of flotation machine has the following characteristics.
First, the flow state of the internal gas solid-liquid multiphase flow in the tank of the flotation machine has non-symmetry. If the rotating speed is high, the inflation pressure will be great. The flow rate, volume fraction and turbulence intensity and other parameter distributions of each phrase are not symmetrical, which is related to the distribution and the flow speed of the gas phase volume fraction in the tank. If the volume fraction and the flow speed of the gas phrase in the tank is large, the distribution in the tank is not uniform, which makes the flow state of the gas liquid solid multiphase flow in the tank has certain non-symmetry.
Second, the large inflatable mechanical flotation machine is roughly divided into the mixed zone, transport zone, separation zone and foam area. The air into the impeller from the air distributor is in airflow state. In order to make the air form small bubbles and sufficiently disperse so that the bubble and the floating mineral particles have high probability of collision and form stable bubble, namely the mineral aggregates and the fully suspension of the mineral particles before entering the flotation transport region and the separation zone, the impeller and the guide vane need to form great turbulence intensity in the mixed zone.
Third, the transport region is the transition region between the mixed zone with high turbulence intensity and the separation zone with low turbulence intensity. In this zone, the turbulence intensity is gradually reduced in the axial direction, which is a relatively quiet region. Since the stripping probability of the mineral laden bubbles in the mixed zone is very high, this zone is a key zone mainly used to achieve the re-collision and adhesion of the bubbles and the ore particles.
Forth, the separation zone is a zone to complete the separation of the flotation of the mineral particles with actual purpose and the non-purpose mineral particles.
Fifth, the foam area is formed when the mineralized bubbles and non-mineralized bubbles rise to the separation zone from the slurry.
