The role of the impact device is to withstand the impact of the materials knocked out by the plate hammer and rebound the materials crushed by the impact device to the hammering area for further crushing to ensure the reasonable and normal operation of the whole impact process to get the required particle size finally. Therefore, the type and the shape design of the impact device not only has an impact on the effective volume of the crushing chamber, but also directly affects the crushing efficiency of the impact crusher. By observing the surface shape of the impact plate of the impact crusher at home and abroad, we find that the impact plate can be divided into the polyline and round solitary type. The impact plate can be divided into the two kinds of impact surface, namely the forward type and backward type.
The first is the involute linear impact surface. In theory, all the reasonable impact surfaces should be the in the involute shape to ensure that the materials knocked out from the plate hammer can vertically crash the impact surface to get the best crushing effect. Since the manufacturing of the involute impact surface is very hard and the material blocks crash and disturb each other in the crushing cavity so that the flight path has been irregular. As a result, the involute impact plate has lost the practical significance to a considerable extent. Therefore, in the design process and manufacturing process of the impact crusher, we often use the fold-line impact surface which approximates the involute to replace the involute. However, in the design process, we should note that the ore blocks should move forward the discharging area to reduce the useless power consumption of the material blocks in the crushing cavity, which is called the forward impact surfaces.
The second is the circular arc-shaped impact surface. The circular are-shaped impact surface has the following characteristics. The material blocks which get the impact energy from the plate hammer fly on the impact surface and they are rebounded by the impact plate. Then the material blocks will focus at the center point of the counter surface. In this way, the material blocks with different weight, shape and flight speed generate strong impact near the center.
